Explore Cavalière, Bormes, and more:
Beyond the main festivities, there's plenty to do in and around Bormes-les-Mimosas and Cavalière to make it a great stay.
Here are some ideas:
à la plage
Enjoy a tranquil day at one of the region's beautiful beaches, Plage de l'Estagnol or the adjacent Pellegrin Beach at Café Léoube (excellent lunch!).
Cavalière is great for families. Julia and her family vacation at the beach every summer. Rent a 'matelas' at one of the beach restaurants or explore options to get a surfboard, catamaran, etc., at the École de Voile de Cavalière.
Take a Boat Trip to the
Îles d’Or
Organise a trip to the Îles d’Or, including Porquerolles, Port-Cros, and Île du Levant. Porquerolles, in particular, is known for its pristine beaches and hiking trails and the beautiful art collection of Édouard Carmignac, housed at the Fondation Carmignac. The location is spectacular, as is the collection.
Fancy local Cuisine
If you're looking for delicious Provençal dishes like bouillabaisse, pâté, or regional seafood specialities here are some places to try. We love the Restaurants L’Auberge de la Môle or Chez Jo in Cavalière but getting to them is an experience in and of itself. Our go-to spots include Le Tamaris in Saint-Clair and the restaurant at the Sailing School in Cavalière.
Local Vineyards
The Saturday before the wedding is perhaps not the best day to do it, yet the area is famous for its rosé wines. Arrange a wine-tasting at local vineyards such as Domaine de la Sanglière, Domaines Ott, Léoube or Brégançon for a real Provençal experience.
Heading East:
Yes, St Tropez, with its well-known adventures and glittering old town, is a 45-minute journey up the coast!
However, we suggest stopping at Gassin. Gassin has been officially named one of France's "Les Plus Beaux Villages" (the most beautiful villages). Stroll along the Promenade Dei Barri, which provides panoramic views of vineyards, the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and the surrounding countryside. Or plan a leisurely drive along the Route des Crêtes, which connects Gassin and Ramatuelle and offers breathtaking panoramic views.
